Greenhouse Gas Levels Increase

From Axios

Global emissions of methane—a GHG 84X more potent than carbon dioxide, but with a shorter lifespan—surged in 2021.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported that methane saw the largest annual increase since tracking began in 1983. The agency also reported that CO2 levels increased for the 10th straight year.

“Our data show that global emissions continue to move in the wrong direction at a rapid pace,”said NOAA administrator Rick Spinrad. “The evidence is consistent, alarming, and undeniable."
